So the movie is basically the story of my life. Check.

 

The story and plot had a lot of potential. Except for some random, unexplained occurrences it kept my interest. But the last 30 minutes were like someone else wrote the ending. It didn't fit the story or feel of the previous 90 minutes and had a vague ending that had nothing to do with the rest of the movie.
As I said, it had a lot of potential until the ill fitting last 30 minutes arrived. Jake is the janitor and he's imagining what his life could have been like if he was this perfect guy (being smart, a painter, winning high accolades) and what he would have done if he actually spoke with this girl he saw at a bar once. Im guessing by the books ending and the fact that the final shot of the film shows it being morning and his car is still at the school he killed himself. The reason why every conversation was so weird is because of his social awkwardness.

3:26 listen carefully when she says Rika,she does the guttural sound from the grudge when she pronounces the A in Rikas name. I would recommend Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune and Beau soir by Debussy to anyone who's looking for similar music until they release the soundtrack. Just a really bad movie. There's no other way to put it. THE MF SOUNDTRACK BROOO.

This movie tell us the life is not like our imagination and that's make me sad. I cried watching I'm thinking of ending things. The most pretentious garbage I have ever wasted over 2 hours of my life on, like seriously how the hell did this get adapted into a film, I'm sure it's a great book, but as a film it is just a mess, words with no meaning, pointless endless speeches! I'm all for a quirky movie but kinda can't even call it a film if you have to read in to the symbolism & what stuff "actually means.

It's an interesting point about being stuck in that same horrific moment the protagonist is stuck in. When looked at it that way, my reaction to the film makes perfect sense now. He's certainly not the first to have done it, but it seems to me that it was very much a conscious decision in this film to create a sort of sponge out of the audience where they absorb the horror, and it weighs you down filling up a void in you. the film does nothing to squeeze the horror out of the audience tho, it kind of leaves them to rot, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I've never seen the film and have never heard of it. But upon watching the first few seconds of the clips you showed, I can already guess what kind of mood the filmmaker is trying to invoke in me as a viewer... damn, that's some good editing+directing. @watchmojo I couldnt see the hanging munchkin. Yall need to circle ⭕️ stuff so we can see it, not just tell us about it & move on. What do you think that kind of behavior means when these two were closing their lockers while they were dancing. The demon face in The Exorcist isn´t something shown in the background of a scene but in the focus of a seperate shot. Please being back Taboo. SPOILERS So this was a bit confusing to me but I think I get it. They show him being killed by the janitor when he was younger so did he die when he was young by this janitor and now the janitor, older, is haunted by the student he killed long ago? Or (this is the most likely case) Is this just a representation that Jake is in fact the janitor and the dance showing him killing his younger self and taking the girlfriend away a metaphor for him killing both his younger self and this girlfriend he's come up with in his head and been imagining in his head the whole movie and now accepting his present self and coming to terms with the fact he was unable to accomplish his dreams and instead ended up as a janitor.

This movie tackled depression very well.

This movie will get real for you if you can relate to it You shouldnt keep things in the basement.

's what you look like. As soon as this scene popped up I was in tears and knew Ive seen the best movie of the year. I felt like this movie was cobbled together by a second year English major that was given way too much marching powder over a long weekend. It is the most pretentious drivel I have ever had the displeasure of watching. The only accomplishment was made by the editors of the trailer that managed to make the film look enticing. They should either get an award or be brought up on fraud charges. 我想結束這一切 full movie 123movies parasite. Haha, a disclaimer. To be clear, the actual Susan Orlean book The Orchid Thief had none of the elements about Charlie Kaufman (or his fictional brother) in it, which this description seems to imply. Adaptation manages to be a successful adaptation of two books (The Orchid Thief and Story by Robert McKee) which is intertwined with the story of a fictionalized version of Kaufman (and his entirely fictional brother) trying unsuccessfully to adapt to life while adapting the book The Orchid Thief. Still confusing, I know, but I believe that is a more accurate representation.

The worst movie of 2020. Charlie Kaufman also wrote and directed Woody Harrelson's Lost In London. but no one knows that yet. Base ont the title alone, I'm sensing the I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House vibes and knew what to expect.
